Google's 2014 Redesign-News vertical results
Here's a question for [WTOP traffic], showing the results of vertical news redesigned. Note that these were captured on different days, so the actual items have changed, the count / layout are equivalent, however:
All articles are linked using the largest source (with the same implications for Length / packaging). As results vertical images, news results splitter receives the top and bottom. In general, you can see that almost every type of result is occupying much vertical space.
