Matt Cutts: We can take action on sites benefit from Guest Post Networks
Matt Cutts of Google announced that they have penalized a network of large guest blogs, but never said which one. The search community is MyBlogGuest.com believes he was beaten and the owner, a respected industry SEO Member, Ann Smarty confirmed that indeed receive a manual action in Google Webmaster Tools and was penalized.
But Ann did not think the publishers participating in the network would get hit too. She tweeted:
That said, if you were part of this network, if you inform us about your Google rankings suffer and / or manual action are notified in Google Webmaster Tools.
You may ask, why is there so much confusion about this? Well, Google wants to break some spirits with this and although not MyBlogGuest which was directed here, Google does not mind people thinking it and then think the punishment is more severe than it should be?
